* Therapeutic Massage – Most requested
A treatment using a variety of massage and stretching techniques, uniquely individualized to your bodies needs at that time. During a session, imbalances present themselves in the body. Using the techniques listed below, different modalities and pressures are applied to release tension in the body and mind.
* Active Isolated Stretching-(AIS) Aaron Mattes
Great choice for chronic tightness, pre/post athletic events, and injury rehabilitation.
The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of Athletic Stretching Technique that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups, but more importantly, AIS provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes.
Performing an Active Isolated Stretch of no longer than two seconds allows the target muscles to optimally lengthen without triggering the protective stretch reflex and subsequent reciprocal antagonistic muscle contraction to reach isolated muscle relaxation. These stretches provide balance throughout the body and can be accomplished without opposing tension or resulting trauma.
* Manual Lymphatic Drainage – (MLD) Dr. Vodder
Lymphatic massage is used primarily to increase immune system function, promote cleansing (detoxification) and assist the body’s natural ability to heal and keep diseases at bay.
Recommended for pre/post operation to increase surgery results and reduce recovery time.
MLD is a very gentle manual treatment that improves the function of the lymphatic system throughout the body. MLD is becoming widely recognized in the United States as a treatment for many pathologies including post-surgical swelling, post-traumatic edema (e.g., sports injuries), migraine headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia.
*Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)
NMT is a thorough program of recovery from acute and chronic pain syndromes which utilizes specific positional release therapies, massage, flexibility stretching, and home care to eliminate the causes of most neuromuscular pain patterns. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. NMT enhances the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (movement) and it releases endorphins, the body’s own natural pain killers. It can be part of a comprehensive program, complementing all other health care modalities. Neuromuscular Therapy examines six physiological factors that may create or intensify pain patterns.
These six factors are:
2. Trigger Points
3. Nerve Entrapment
4. Postural Distortions
6. Emotional Well being
Thai Vedic Yoga Massage
A balancing massage effecting all levels of consciousness. Passive movements (meaning I take your body through movements and you are relaxed) consisting of stretches and yin type yoga poses relieve physical tension being held in the body. An extreme focus on breathing, deep and controlled, creates a meditative alpha state for the mind. This treatment is performed on an authentic Thai Mat. The full body balancing sequence is 2 hours, but may be shortened to address individual body parts if necessary.
Things to remember:
Hydration is critical to the process of detoxification. In your treatment we are releasing the barriers that keep your bodies fluid stagnant. In order to eliminate those toxic fluids you need fresh water to replace it. PLEASE DRINK WATER.
